Grizzlies love fish and use the calories to fatten up for hibernation. Bears must fatten up as much as possible in summer to live through hibernation, so they look for the most fattening foods, which for many are salmon and other fish. The streams that hold those fish are some of their favorite places to feed. Bears are also omnivores which means they will eat lots of vegetation and meat.
